EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

CLIENT RESOURCE CENTRE

Helpful information to guide your cabinetry journey

This Resource Centre has been created to guide you through our cabinetry process and help answer common questions along the way. From understanding what to expect at each stage, through to product selections and finishes, you’ll find clear and helpful information to support your project.

Our Process: What to Expect

Step 1: Getting Started

Sharing your vision

Every great project begins with information. We ask for as much detail as possible upfront, plans, inspiration images, measurements, and any must-have design ideas or functional needs.

Timeframes and Planning

UNDERSTANDING TIMEFRAMES

As custom cabinetry is designed and built specifically for each project, timeframes can vary depending on complexity and selections. The design and drafting stage typically takes several weeks, allowing time for detailed planning, accurate drawings and client feedback.

Revisions and design changes are a normal part of the process; however, each round of changes may impact the overall timeline as drawings are reviewed and updated. Once the design is approved, the project is formally confirmed and the deposit received, cabinetry then moves into production, with lead times influenced by materials, finishes and hardware selections.

Installation is generally scheduled at the point of sale, prior to production commencing, and confirmed in line with anticipated manufacturing timelines and site readiness to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated installation.

Design Considerations and Helpful Tips

FAILING TO PLAN IS PLANNING TO FAIL

Thoughtful planning at the design stage helps ensure your cabinetry is both functional and aligned with your budget. Establishing clear priorities early, such as where to invest in statement finishes versus where to keep things simple, allows the design to work smarter without compromising overall impact.

Storage planning is equally important; considering how you use each space day to day helps determine the right mix of drawers, shelving and internal fittings to maximise usability. Balancing functionality with aesthetics is key, as the most successful designs seamlessly combine visual appeal with practical, long-term performance.

Factors that most influence cost typically include cabinetry layout and size, material and finish selections, internal hardware solutions, and the level of custom detailing required. Our role is to guide you through these decisions to achieve a well-considered outcome that suits both your lifestyle and investment.

Frequently Asked Questions

NEED MORE HELP?

If the question you have is not listed here, then please give us a call 07 3188 1441 or email us.

Why can’t you provide an exact quote early on?

Every cabinetry project is custom designed, with costs influenced by layout, materials, finishes, hardware and detailing. Until designs and selections are finalised, it’s difficult to provide an accurate price. Detailed quoting ensures transparency and avoids unexpected variations later.

How long does the design and drafting process take?

Design and drafting typically takes several weeks, depending on the complexity of the project and the number of revisions required. This stage is essential to ensure accuracy, functionality and a smooth transition into production.

How do design revisions affect timeframes?

Revisions are a normal part of the process, however each round of changes requires drawings to be reviewed and updated. Multiple revisions can extend the overall timeline, particularly prior to final approval.

When is my project confirmed?

A project is confirmed once final designs are approved and the deposit has been received. At this point, production timeframes and installation scheduling can be locked in.

What impacts production lead times?

Production lead times vary based on material availability, finishes, hardware selections and overall project scope. Custom finishes or specialty products may require longer lead times.

Do you coordinate with builders or other trades?

Yes. We regularly work alongside builders and trades to ensure cabinetry is installed at the appropriate stage of the build or renovation. Clear communication and site readiness are essential for a smooth installation.

What factors affect the cost of custom cabinetry the most?

Key cost drivers include the size and layout of cabinetry, material and finish selections, internal storage solutions, hardware upgrades and the level of custom detailing involved.

Can changes be made after production has started?

Once cabinetry enters production, changes are generally not possible. This is why careful review and approval of all drawings and selections is critical before signing off.

Do you provide samples for selections?

Yes. Samples are available in our showroom to assist with selecting finishes, colours and materials, ensuring confidence in your choices before final approval.
